How to get to Oulu
Although Oulu seems remote when you look at the map, it is actually quite easy to reach. Finnair has twelve flights from Helsinki to Oulu every day. In addition, both Finnair and SAS have recently opened direct daily flights from Stockholm to Oulu. Early August weather in Oulu is mild. Daytime temperatures average 20°C with 18 hours of daylight. Opportunities for birdwatching are good around the meeting place and in the vicinity of Oulu. An afternoon excursion is planned as a part of the program.
