Trace Element laboratory
Trace element laboratory is a part of the University of Oulu, department of chemistry. The aim of the laboratory is to concentrate research and method development activities in the area of atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS), including sample pre-treatment. Laboratory also makes service analysis for different departments of the university and surrounding economic and industrial life.

Main analytical facilities:
- Plasma emission spectrometry (ICP-OES)
- Plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
- Ion chromatography
- Combustion analysis (determination of C, H, N and S)
- Atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS)
