----------------------------------------------------------------- ron230409.readme (HS) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Here are force calculations made with NIRQB for the NIRSOS galaxies. Eija has gone through the sample, and removed those galaxies for which force calculation does not make sense (inclination > 60, interacting pairs, those likely to be ellipticals). This leaves a sample of 155 galaxies The three subdirectories HZ05, HZ10, HZ20 contain calculations with 3 different assumed vertical thicknesses: h_z/r_K20 =0.05, 0.10, 0.20 (h_z is the vertical exponential scale height, r_K20 is the radius of K20 isophote, obtained from 2MASS) In the calculation, polar integration using m=0,2,4,6,8,10 fourier components has been made The bulge correction has been done based on Eija's decompositions, whenever possible. The decomposition used assume spherical bulges: in cases where the bulge is clearly noncircular in the original image, only one half of bulge light has been corrected (this is equivalent to what Becky did when constructed deprojected images: taking a mean of bulge-corrected and non-corrected images). ----------------------------------------------------------------- The files related to each calculation have an identification, which is composed of galaxy identification + hz-identification e.g. "ic4214K_hz10" The list of identifcations is in file * nirsos_nirqb.list From each force calculation, the following files are stored * ide_compact.ps ---------------- "compact" plot displaying: - upper left: the original sky image - upper right: deprojected image - m=0 subtracted + butterfly plot with FT/FR contours - lower left: m=0 light distribution, decomposed to bulge and disk - lower mddle: corresponding circular velocity curve - lower right: Q_T(r) profile In the last two plots, the dashed lines indicate results from cartesian integration (using FFT with 512*512 grid) * ide_compact.png ----------------- A png-version of the postscript plot, just for faster viewing. * ide_qt.txt ----------------- Ascii file containing the force profiles from polar integration - first line: nr= number of r values - next nr lines: r, v, qt r = radius in pixels v = circular velocity from the intensity distribution, arbitrary units qt = max(FT)/FR(m=0) for each r * ide_qt_fft.txt ----------------- Same as above, but using cartesian integration (512*512 grid) * ide.log ---------- Log of calculation ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The are stored in http://cc.oulu.fi/~hsalo/NIRSOS_NIRQB in sub-directories: * HZ05 * HZ10 * HZ20 Each of these subdirectories contain * PS - subdirectory with ide_compact.ps -files * PNG - subdirectory with ide_compact.png -files * TXT - subdirectory with ide*qt*txt -files * LOG - subdirectory with ide.log -files and gzipped tarfiles (contain the exactly same files as the subdirectorys) * psfiles.tar.gz * pngfiles.tar.gz * txtfiles.tar.gz * logfiles.tar.gz The individual files are mean just to have a easy rapid view of an individual case if needed the tar-files are for convenient downloading Altogether the size is about 230Megas du -k NIRSOS_NIRQB 19854 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ10/PS 18782 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ10/PNG 1804 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ10/TXT 625 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ10/LOG 76488 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ10 1804 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ20/TXT 625 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ20/LOG 19716 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ20/PS 18636 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ20/PNG 75979 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ20 1804 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ05/TXT 625 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ05/LOG 20026 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ05/PS 18865 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ05/PNG 76958 NIRSOS_NIRQB/HZ05 229426 NIRSOS_NIRQB But the ascii-files with force profiles only 1.5megas total. The main subdirectory (http://cc.oulu.fi/~hsalo/NIRSOS_NIRQB) contains also * ron230409 - this file * potsave_compare_nirsos_driver230409_1.ps - comparison of force profiles by polar and cartesian integration (hz10 case) Also marked here is the q_b and rQ_b indicated in compact-plots and log-files * potsave_compare_nirsos_driver230409_22.ps - comparison of force profiles for hz=0.5, 0.10, and 0.20 (polar integration)
