THIS SET REPLACES THE MASKS DELIVERED 27 July 2010

This directory  (http://cc.oulu.fi/~hsalo/S4G_PIPELINE4/FINMASK_180810)
contains masks for 834 S4G galaxies, to be used in S4G
pipeline 4 decompositions.  The masks are hand-edited and visually
checked versions of all the currently (JAug 18th, 2010) available
pipeline 1 low threshold masks created with SExtractor.

The goal of the editing has been to unmask the features likely to
belong to the galaxy itself. In particular, masked galaxy centers,
bright bar and spiral features, potentially affecting the
decompositions, have been removed from the masks. Additionally,
the masked regions around bright stars and diffraction features have 
been expanded.

The editing software and mask editing was made in Oulu by Heikki Salo,
Eija Laurikainen, Jarkko Laine and Jani Lappalainen.

finmask180810.tar          - 36 Megabyte tar file of all gzipped masks

maskplot_180810_NN.png     - plot comparing the original pipeline 2 masks (lo) 
with NN=1,...,56             with the edited (fin) masks. Each png-file shows
                             15 galaxies
