Note also how bright the two surrounding density waves are (Prometheus 12:11, Mimas 5:3). Also, the after ansa portions appear more diffuse than before the ansa. The 'ruler' is from the lit side Voyager ISS I/F profile, made by show_iss.pro ---> ring_panorama.ps The procedure also shows another (poorer resolution) Cassini image for comparison (alpha=112) Here the bending wave appears bright at ansa ---> rings_from_afar.ps ------------------------------- * deproject_panorama_170205.pro ------------------------------- Shows a) rectified A ring region from the Cassini panorama image + three regions in more detail: b) upper corner = before ansa c) ansa d) lower corner = after ansa --> ring_panorama_depro.ps Here the contrast (same in all frames) is chosen to show asymmetry, which appears to be strongest near ansa. The bending wave appear dark both before b) and after the ansa d) (it had that bright/dark change at ansa, but in this contrast it is not visible in frame c) Also, what do you think of the doubling of the Prometheus 12:11 density wave (inside the Mimas 5:3 bending wave) in d)? + the other rectified image --> rings_from_afar_depro.ps
