In addition to the opening ceremony and the get-together reception, reception by the City of Oulu, conference tour, and conference dinner, there will be a separate program for accompanying persons.

Short Excursion: City of Oulu

Monday, August 2

The short excursion starts at 9.00 from the Congress Center Lasaretti for a guided walk in the city. Coffee and tea will be served during the tour. The tour will be guided in English.

Long Excursion: Kierikki Stone Age Centre

Tuesday, August 3

A tour to Kierikki Stone Age Centre departs from Hotel Holiday Inn at 9.00. During the guided tour, the group will explore the dwellings of the Stone Age people and have a chance to practice ancient archery and other activities and tasks.

Kierikki Stone Age Centre is an archaeological centre situated north-east of Oulu on an archaeological site of a former Stone Age settlement, which was inhabited as far back as 7000 years ago. Lunch will be enjoyed at the main building.

The tour continues to KulttuuriKauppila, local art home. KulttuuriKauppila is a dream of three artists of a new kind of an art home. There are an atelier and an exhibition house for the local artists and the old school building functions as the artist residence. Coffee and tea will be served during the visit. The tour will end at ca. 16.00.
