Lilium regale and Lilium martagon.

The project is funded by Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and it is performed in co-operation with Botanical Gardens and Agricultural Research Centre of Finland.

A register of perennials in Finland has been created to be used in selection of strains of various species for further development. The selected plant material has been tested for its possible pathogen and pest contamination, and purified if necessary. A micropropagation method has also been developed for the selected plants. Field tests have been performed in order to find out winter and disease hardiness. The register and the results will be published in scientific and professional periodicals, and they will also be used in consulting.
