Magnetic resonance (MR) techniques, such as nuclear magnetic resonance
(NMR) spectroscopy and magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI), provide
extraordinarily versatile information about the physical properties,
chemistry, structure and dynamic phenomena of materials. The Faculty of Science at the University of Oulu organizes a two-year full-time
Master's degree programme in Magnetic Resonance in Materials (MRM),
which provides a unique combination of theoretical, experimental, and computational
education in NMR in various materials.
The aim
is to develop the appropriate competence and knowledge needed in
high-tech industries and medical technologies applying nuclear
magnetism as well as in research in physics, chemistry, bio- and
materials sciences. The programme is open for applications from
students with a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent higher education
degree. All teaching will be in English. Students will be awarded a
Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.
Department
of Physics is an official Centre of Excellence in Research within the University of
Oulu.
New:
After the first year, we offer summer job for the students that have collected at least a total of
55 ECTS credits during the autumn and spring semesters. The hired students will take part in an experimental
or theoretical-computational research project pertaining to his/her Master of Science degree thesis.
The three months' summer job project will be carried out in between May and September.
