Department of Internal Medicine
Our department is responsible for a number of educational activities. We involve annually about 90 medical students for the studies on the field of the internal medicine including all of its various areas. In addition, we participate in the training of specialists on all the fields of internal medicine. Furthermore, we organize and stimulate continuous medical education for internists and health center doctors all over the Northern Finland.Our department has several study research groups focusing particularly on the common problems and diseases. Many of our projects have a close relationship with a number of international study groups.
We work closely together with the Hospital
Department of Internal Medicine participating in the patient care.
Altogether the university and hospital staff includes 58 Medical Doctors
and 264 persons in the nursing and secretarial staff.
