Where I am physically

Me and my family live in Kempele. I am working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematical Sciences in the University of Oulu. It has to be mentioned that very often you can find me sea kayaking somewhere near Oulu in Bay of Bothnia (Baltic Sea).

Research interests (i.e. where I am mentally)

My research interests lie within functional analysis and abstract harmonic analysis. I am currently working in the field of topological groups and semigroup together with their semigroup compactifications, and related Banach algebras. This subject relates naturally to the theory of Banach algebras and links two important branches of functional analysis: harmonic analysis and Banach algebra theory. The interplay between these two branches is a really fruitful area of research.

I am a member of the research group of Abstract Harmonic Analysis. For more information, see our webpage.
