[Nuuk harbor]

The main event of the day was the first half of a field trip to the village of Kapisillit, which lies about 80 km east by northeast from Nuuk.

On the trip, we would make an excursion by foot around the area, visit the village school, and generally see what a small Greenlandic village is like. But first...

We assembled at Nuuk harbor at around noon to wait for our boat to arrive. It was a rainy day, and the weather was chilly.

[Gulls at the harbor]

Fitting right in with the stereotype of a harbor, there were some gulls flying around.

Tidevandstrappen. These stairs allow entering a boat regardless of the phase of the tide, hence the name. The lower end was slippery due to the exposure to the sea.
