[Note the water level!]

I joined the geography group. Our hosts at Ilinniarfissuaq knew one of the villagers, who kindly took us on his boat to the excursion area and back.

We climbed into the boat (pictured on the previous page) for a 20-minute ride northeast. Our destination was the west edge of the neck of land, on the other side of which Kangersuneq lies.

This photo was taken from the wharf in Kapisillit where we started at. Note the water level.

The boat returned to Kapisillit. We would have about six hours for the excursion to Kangersuneq and back, before the boat would return to pick us up.

The journey ahead was only about four kilometers (so, eight kilometers for a two-way trip), but it was not the easiest kind of surface to walk on.
